Our daily companions in the depths of the northern Aegean…

For about forty days now, we have been coexisting with this particular loggerhead sea turtle. We always encounter her in Posidonia seagrass meadows, reminding us how vital these forests of the sea are—not only for marine animals, but also for us humans.

In these meadows, sea turtles find a safe refuge and food throughout the year—at least in those that still survive in Greek waters, more often by chance rather than thanks to protective measures.

It is essential that we come to know the rich life of our seas and take on the responsibility of their efficient protection as something self-evident—not as yet another summer trend, served to us by the new waves of greenwashing that are appearing ever more frequently.
