It was a great honor but also great moral support for all those who comprise Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation to be granted the Efkranti Award “Marilena Laskaridi” for the naval culture excellence and for the support to the Hellenic nautical heritage and tradition. The Efkanti award ceremony was carried out for the 12th successive year by the “Naftika Chronika” magazine and this year took place in the Benaki Museum. It was attended by well renowned members of the Greek shipping community who honoured the awardees with their presence.
Those awarded were selected by a committee of experts from a wide range of backgrounds representing academic research, maritime media, the shipping industry, as well as the cultural and natural heritage.

The award ceremony was attended by the General Secretary of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Dr. Kyriazopoulos, the Hellenic Navy Lieutenant Mr Isaakoglou, the president of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation Mr. Panos Laskaridis, as well many well renowned representatives of the Greek shipping industry.
