Advice For Consumption
There is no accurate stock assessment available. Think before you consume this species, and always respect the sustainable size and breeding season! Eat responsibly. Due to ineffective legislation that does not take into account the species biology, the legal size of this fish is substantially lower than the sustainable size. This makes it particularly important to respect the sustainable size shown

Juveniles have an irregular mottled pattern, a whitish margin on their tail, and black blotches on head and body. Body tall, compressed. Big mouth with big head and a rough bony ridge across upper part of the gill cover. They are known for their large head, big mouth, and a rough bony ridge across the upper part of the gill cover.
