Interactive Activities for the Protection of the Sea

Interactive Activities for the Protection of the Sea

by Dimitris Fekkas / Friday, 23 December 2022 / Published in News
Before the closing of schools for Christmas break, students from the schools of Patmos and Lipsi took part in interactive activities for the protection of the sea.

Through presentations and games, we aim to enrich their knowledge regarding biodiversity and ways in which we can all contribute to their protection through our day-to-day actions.

Here at the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation, we prioritize preparing the generation that will be called to manage the numerous environmental issues that they will inherit from us. We work to bridge the great gaps of the Greek educational system when it comes to environmental education.

It is only through a holistic education that we can understand and protect the natural world on which we depend on. Our goal for 2023, is to include even more schools in these activities – which for two decades now we offer for free – from island and mainland communities, either on site or virtually.

Happy holidays to all!
