Despite the strong north wind and the waves in the Aegean today, the deeper waters are a different world, with much calmer conditions than those on the surface. Therefore, the tenacious work of caring for the underwater gardens of Posidonia seagrass continues and will intensify in the coming weeks and months.

This large endeavour of underwater replanting that we have been systematically implementing for the past 6 years, in collaboration with qualified scientists, is extremely challenging – it is an ongoing effort that requires a great deal of underwater care, all year round.

Planting underwater gardens is a defense against the ongoing deforestation of the seagrass meadows, which in Greece are being increasingly destroyed year after year, as no protective measures are being implemented.

The protection of our seas is an urgent need that concerns us all, as we will all inevitably experience the consequences of their destruction. So, let’s not focus on communication, but rather real action with real results.
