Internships in the Aegean

Archipelagos Interships

Archipelagos Institute welcomes researchers, young graduates, students and volunteers to join our team in the Aegean Sea! Here you will have the opportunity to be a part of Archipelagos’ field research, conservation projects, data collection and more. This experience will allow you to enrich your knowledge and improve practical skills important to the field of marine conservation.

Participants gain valuable field research experience on key fields of marine and terrestrial conservation, while also contributing directly towards the protection of the unique marine ecosystems of the Aegean. All internships are geared at developing your leadership, independent research and study skills, allowing you to elevate information, and improve your CV.

During the 2023 academic year, students who are enrolled in online university courses can follow a flexible on-site internship schedule to accommodate both their university course and the on-site internship.

All projects are currently based on the islands of Lipsi and Samos in the southeastern Aegean Sea. Additionally, participants are offered the opportunity to study on board Archipelagos’ research boats: the Aegean Explorer, Pinelopi and Naftilos. Our marine conservation work extends through the Aegean Sea.
